About The Curriculum

Bear Good Fruits™ Catholic Liturgical Homeschool Curriculum is unlike anything else because it follows the Sunday Mass readings and solemnities throughout the entire liturgical year, grounded in the A, B, C cycle set by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Each week includes an open and go lesson, a family prayer, a hands on craft or recipe, meaningful copywork, book recommendations for all ages, and more that are all drawn directly from that week’s Scripture and solemnities. Every volume also includes Saint Spotlights™, featuring saints honored in the US liturgical calendar, complete with a short biography, celebration ideas, a printable prayer image, and a matching coloring page.

Our heart behind this work is simple. We want families to carry the grace of Sunday Mass into their homes all week long. We want children to grow up understanding the liturgical calendar, knowing why the readings were chosen, and learning how to tie God’s Word to the real, lived moments of family life. When liturgical living feels overwhelming or impossible to keep up with, Bear Good Fruits™ walks alongside you one week at a time.

Bear Good Fruits™ Catholic Homeschool Curriculum is divided into four seasonal volumes that flow beautifully with the natural year.

Season of Light begins with Advent and ends the week of Ash Wednesday. (12 weeks)

Season of Dawn carries families through Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. (14 weeks)

Season of Growth guides you through Ordinary Time with purpose and joy. (12 weeks)

Season of Harvest begins after the Feast of the Assumption and leads you all the way to the Feast of Christ the King. (14 weeks)

Each volume will release 4+ weeks before you need to begin using the curriculum.

Throughout the curriculum, we intentionally teach children about the liturgical colors, seasons, symbols, and rhythms so they begin to recognize what they are hearing, seeing, and praying at Mass. Once the three-year cycle has been completed, families can simply begin again — using each year’s lessons as many times as needed. One curriculum. Three full years. Endless opportunities for hands on learning, faith formation, and connection.

We’ve all seen the shallow, simplistic feast day printables floating around. They might be cute for an afternoon, but gone by bedtime and completely disconnected from what the Church is actually proclaiming at Mass. Each of these sections work together to bring Scripture, tradition, and beauty into your home through simple, meaningful conversation.

Growing Deeper

For families that want it all, there are optional extensions for learning built right into the curriculum that allow you to slow down, explore, and really connect with the week’s theme. You’ll find family worksheets, nature-based prompts in Lectio Divina In Nature, hands-on activities in Get Your Hands Dirty, copywork, coloring sheets, and thoughtful book and media suggestions that help bring the lesson to life. In addition to our Saint Spotlights™, some weeks also include a Sacred Art Study to spark reflection through beauty. You can use all of these resources or just a few. Bear Good Fruits™ Catholic Homeschool Curriculum follows the liturgical year exactly as the Church lives it, which means Volume 1, Year A begins in the first week of Advent, the true beginning of the Catholic Church year. While the secular calendar starts in January, the Church begins anew with Advent, calling us into hopeful preparation for the coming of Christ.

The whole fam! All of them! No matter how many (or how few) children you have at home, they can all use Bear Good Fruits™, together.

Ages 3-6: Younger children can enjoy the hands-on crafts, simple recipes, saint coloring pages, and family prayer time.
Ages 7-12: Older children can dive into the deeper copywork, Scripture reflection, book recommendations, and discussion prompts.
Ages 13-18+: Teens can join in with the readings, take on leadership roles, read chapter books, and engage in the liturgical themes with more maturity.

Absolutely!!! This curriculum was intentionally created to keep families together rather than separating everyone by grade levels. When we learn side by side, we strengthen the domestic church and live more fully the mission God has given us as parents: to raise Saints, to grow in holiness together, and to carry the grace of Sunday Mass into every corner of our homes throughout the week. Bear Good Fruits™ supports you in that beautiful work, no matter the season of life or the ages gathered around your table.

Due to popular demand, both Vol 2 and 3 are available with various options for physical copies and we will be adding the option to purchase physical copies of Vol 1 soon.

Hardly any!! Bear Good Fruits™ was built for moms who are already juggling children, laundry, meals, and half finished coffees. You open the lesson, glance at the plan, and you are ready. Supplies stay simple, activities stay doable, and nothing feels like a Pinterest project gone wrong.

We also added QR codes everywhere to make your life easier. Book lists, extra resources, YouTube links, music, and helpful videos are all one quick scan away. No more hunting and scrolling while someone cries in the background. This is liturgical learning that fits into real homes with real families. Just open it and start. (We do recommend trying to gather books ahead of time and double checking recipes for ingredients!)

The Family Worksheets book is yours to print as many copies as you need, whether you have one child or a whole little tribe around your table. Crafts, coloring pages, copywork, recipes, saint activities… print what you need and keep going.

This is a tool, not a test. Bear Good Fruits™ is meant to support your family, not stress you out. Some weeks you might get through everything and feel like a homeschool superhero. Other weeks you might only manage the Scripture reading and a quick prayer while someone spills cereal on the floor. It still counts. God works with whatever you can give Him.

The goal is to bring the rhythm of the Church into your home in a way that actually fits your life. Use what helps. Skip what doesn’t. Pick it up again when you are ready. Your children will still learn. Your home will still be rooted in the readings from Mass. Grace is the point, not perfection.

For many families, yes! Bear Good Fruits™ gives you Scripture, saints, liturgical living, catechesis, prayer, and meaningful weekly formation rooted in the Mass. It keeps your whole family anchored to what the Church is actually reading and celebrating, which is the core of our faith. If you want something rich, simple, and truly Catholic, this can absolutely stand as your main religion curriculum for your whole family.

Bear Good Fruits™ follows the current USCCB liturgical calendar, which is what most parishes use for Sunday Mass, daily Mass, and the ABC cycle of readings. For the vast majority of families, this aligns perfectly with what you already experience at church each week.

While the traditional calendar differs in a few areas, such as feast day dates, the placement of certain saints, and the pre-1955 structure of Lent and Holy Week, these differences do not create conflicts with this curriculum. The heart of the liturgical year remains the same — Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, and Ordinary Time — and the core mysteries of our faith are celebrated in both calendars.

Because Bear Good Fruits™ is built directly around the Sunday Mass readings, following the current USCCB calendar ensures your family is learning from the same Scripture proclaimed at your parish, making your homeschool more unified with the life of the Church. The exact wording of the readings and occasional feast dates may differ from the U.S. version used in Bear Good Fruits™.

This does not impact your ability to use the curriculum, and families outside the U.S. can still follow along beautifully with only minor differences which they can easily adapt on their own.

Bear Good Fruits™ follows the current USCCB liturgical calendar, which is what Novus Ordo parishes use. The lectionary for the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) is different from the one used in the modern Ordinary Form of the Mass. The TLM uses a one-year cycle of readings, while the Ordinary Form uses a three-year cycle for Sundays. This curriculum follows the Sunday readings for Ordinary Form so they will not be the same readings you hear on Sundays at your TLM parish.

However, this does not impact your ability to use the curriculum because the liturgical seasons, solemnities, and feast days are the same for both TLM and NO. If there is enough interest for a TLM version of Bear Good Fruits, we will begin production. (Send me an email!)

Side note: The writer of the lessons in Bear Good Fruits™ curriculum regularly attends TLM!

If you live outside the United States, the Sunday readings you hear at Mass may use a different approved translation or follow small regional variations depending on your country’s bishops’ conference. This means the wording or the exact selection of verses might not always match the USCCB readings used in Bear Good Fruits™, and occasionally a feast day may fall on a different date.

However, the heart and rhythm of the liturgical year remain the same everywhere. The themes of the readings, the progression of the seasons, and the unfolding of salvation history are universal. With Bear Good Fruits™, your family will still move through every season of the Church year, and over the course of three years, you will read through salvation history and the gospels, right alongside the Church’s liturgical cycle.

Whether or not your local readings match word for word, your family will still experience the fullness of Scripture and the life of the Church woven into your home and your homeschooling.

Yes, but with one note: Each family needs to purchase its own copy unless your co-op chooses to purchase a group license. I keep the price family-friendly on purpose, so each household can afford their own copy of the curriculum without stress. If your group or parish wants to get an extended license, just reach out and we will make it easy!

Not at all! Any Catholic family can use these weekly lessons. You can weave it into bedtime, family prayer, weekends, or your morning routine. This is about living the faith at home, in your domestic church. If you want your kids to understand the readings from Mass and the rhythm of the Church year, this will bless your home whether you homeschool or not.
